Large snow accumulations tend to attract attention when their heavy weight causes severe accidents, such as collapse of the roof. However, they are also the cause of many other, less obvious damage that can cause serious long-term problems. Since the temperature is not constant throughout the winter, snow-covered sections can melt and then freeze again, creating ice accumulations. More solid, these can damage the membrane or the shingles and compromise the waterproofing of the roof. These problems may seem trivial at first, but the infiltrations that come with it can reach various parts of the building and lead to more complex sites if the problem is ignored for too long.
